Growing up as an Army Brat who completed 10 moves around the world before the age of 15, Alex Jayjock is no stranger to change, flexibility, and resiliency. She uses lessons learned from these experiences, along with a passion for competition and a love for the built environment, to craft unique strategies that help design and construction firms achieve their marketing and business development goals.
Throughout her 15+ year career in the AEC industry, Alex has advised clients that range from startups to international powerhouses on strategic plans, project pursuits, defining value propositions, developing business development processes, and more. Whether helping a firm break into a new geographic market or coaching a ‘must win’ interview, Alex thrives on challenging firms to develop client-driven messaging that answers the simple question of ‘so what?’.
In 2018, Alex founded Dragonfly AEC Consulting, driven by a belief that the role of the AEC marketing and BD professional has changed. Alex and the Dragonfly team work toward a vision of being the premier resource for marketing and BD leadership in the design and construction industry.
Dedicated to a ‘work hard, play hard’ mantra, Alex loves spending time with her two kids, golfing, hiking, enjoying an afternoon at a brewery, or a lazy Sunday morning spent at the lake.

NICOLE SMITH, CPSM
Creative Strategist
An award winning graphics specialist, Nicole Smith has been professionally designing creative and compelling marketing materials for 20 years. She believes that design must tell a story and spark an emotion in order to engage and interest the audience. It is simply another path to developing relationships. Good design not only looks good, but never loses sight of a clearly defined message.
Nicole began working in the AEC industry when she was hired by a national engineering firm in 2004 to bring their graphic design in-house and incorporate creativity into proposals and collateral materials, as well as develop standards for other avenues of communication. During her time there, and as the firm grew from fewer than 500 employees to more than 1,200, she worked on 2 rebrands, a brand refresh, and the vision for 3 websites. Other primary projects she has worked on include targeted pursuits, trade show exhibit booth designs, firm anniversary campaigns, and event planning. A pinnacle of her achievements, the firm’s quarterly magazine was honored with 4 Marketing Communications Awards from SMPS Philadelphia and SMPS National in 2018. She was also the first ever recipient of the Diamond Awards Best Panel honor from ACEC/PA for a project submission in 2012.
With a diverse portfolio, she is knowledgeable in a variety of software that aid in being innovative and producing unique and cutting-edge materials that get audience attention for actual ROI.
